"Generous" Restaurant Menu Design

I created a menu design that used different font choices, hierarchy, and spacing to guide the viewer’s eye around the page. My goal was to make the menu visually appealing while keeping it clear, readable, and well organized.

My Role: My role as the designer was .. well .. everything lol! I was responsible for choosing the typography, layout, and overall visual appearance and style of the menu.

Target Audience: The target audience for this project was people who were open to trying excellent quality but deliciously odd food items. This is definitely more for the non-picky eaters or adventurous eaters.

My Thought Process: I wanted the design to have an earthy feel, so I used natural colors and simple typography to match that vibe. The menu items themselves are a little more adventurous, so I tried to create a balance between an organic look and a menu that appeals to non-picky, curious eaters. One challenge was making sure the layout stayed clean and readable while still giving the more unique dishes enough personality.

What I Learned: I learned how much typography influences the tone and usability of a design. I also realized how many small decisions like spacing, font, font weight, and alignment impact how readable and professional a menu feels. It taught me to pay closer attention to detail and to be more intentional with my design choices.
